Light Weaver

A debut novel by Carol Anne Strange

Status: Publication Spring 2012.

Light Weaver is a contemporary story with a fantasy twist about fate, hope, and love. It is also an allegorical tale about transience and the nature of reality.

Description
The story begins in the spring, in the sleepy, timeless landscape of the English Lake District. Strange and inexplicable things are happening in the shadows of the Lakeland fells … light orbs dance over mossy crags, symbols miraculously appear in grassy lowlands, and 26 year old healer, Cali Silverthorn, keeps disappearing into other worlds.

It’s all totally irrational to Tom Philips, who first glimpses Cali’s strange disappearing act while she is dancing naked in the woods. The newly appointed mobile librarian, having returned to his family’s farm after a decade studying literature in Edinburgh, isn’t sure what to make of free-spirited Cali. Despite being at odds with her alternative outlook, he finds her captivating. Soon, they are drawn together by love’s mystifying force only to face the heartbreaking realisation that Cali may soon disappear for good.

As both try to cope with fated events, they remain hopeful of finding a way to stay together but  investigators arrive in the village, attracted by the bizarre phenomena, and Tom and Cali realise that time is running out.

"My aim, with all my writing, is to take the reader on an extraordinary journey and leave them believing that all things are possible." - Carol Anne Strange
